Brent knows what it takes to properly present a business for sale. He understands the motivations of buyers and sellers and exactly how to cut through the clutter and focus on what matters; a successful transaction that feels right for both parties. Brent is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and a Mergers and Acquisitions Master Intermediary (M&AMI), both formal designations bestowed on him by the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and its sister organization, the M&A Source. In addition, he holds a Certified M&A Professional (CM&AP) designation from Coles College M&A Academy at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. He is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), a designation earned through the Exit Planning Institute (EPI), a worldwide organization dedicated to delivering consistently better outcomes to business owners seeking to unlock the wealth they have built up in their businesses.

Brent was named the 2021 CBI of the Year in May 2022 at the annual IBBA Conference in Denver. In addition, he earned the IBBA 2021 Platinum Chairman’s Circle Award and was named to the M&A Source Platinum Club for the third year in a row.

Brent was also an owner and Senior Vice President at RIE Coatings, where he and his team grew the business from $3 million to $10 million in sales from 2009 to 2013. He was instrumental in selling the company to a Twin Cities-based private equity group in 2014. Brent has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Minnesota State University in Mankato with concentrations in Marketing and Finance and a minor in Economics.
