Ed Gehres
Senior Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor
Ed is a business veteran with over 30 years of experience across a broad range of companies. He has extensive expertise, working from Fortune’s global top-10 down to start-ups and locally owned and operated small and medium businesses. Ed has served as a top executive in positions such as VP and COO for several other companies, helping to build and mentor teams, develop new products and service offerings, increase revenues, and transform operations.
His primary industry experience is in technology, professional services, and, most recently, cannabis. He has also consulted across a broader range, including media and entertainment, hospitality, transportation, food ingredients manufacturing, solar energy, finance, healthcare, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
Ed’s technology background, though, is one of his defining credentials. Starting with building custom solutions for Los Angeles-area professional practices when PCs first started making their way into small and medium businesses, Ed progressed to building custom solutions for personnel and facility security management and implementing ERP, CRM, and other solutions for all sizes of companies including some of the largest on earth.
He has also developed global professional services organizations from the ground up, including creating practice tools, methodologies, business models, and systems. He has designed and built mobile applications on both iOS and Android. Ed has even worked on some web progressive app designs, including web-based ecommerce, transportation, project, and client management solutions. He has also been an advisor to multiple technology and professional services start-ups.
In addition to his broad but technology-focused background, Ed is also an attorney licensed to practice in Nevada and California. As an attorney, Ed has also been involved in several M&A transactions producing deal documentation and guiding companies through the transaction process.
Ed’s tally of M&A work to date is well over $2 billion across more than a dozen deals (with an average deal size exceeding $150M). Plus, his deal involvement ranged from strategy and targeting to deal-making and due diligence through the full business integration of acquired assets, something very few M&A advisors at this level can claim.
His rare combination of skills and experience brings substantial value to the clients Ed works with, helping them quickly identify and achieve their business objectives.
